Death & Returning

Levels are never lost, but an unfinished expedition and some unsecured progress can be. Return before a fight becomes more expensive than the rewards are worth.

Death penalties

Death penalties and protected progress

Hero levels and Class Tree ranksNever decrease.
Unequipped equipmentLose a random 25% from the Hero Pack, rounded up.
GoldLose 10% of current gold, rounded up.
Current-level experienceLose 2% of the current hero-level requirement without losing a level.
Unfinished dimensionThe route is lost and its dimensional gem turns off.

Wayfinder's Tether

Normal channel
Hold B without moving or acting for 2.5s to return to the dimensional ship.
Completed route
After a dimension objective is complete, the channel takes 0.5s and preserves its completed gem record.
Unfinished route
Returning collapses the unfinished dimension. A warning appears before the channel completes unless that warning was previously dismissed.
Interruptions
Movement, attacks, dodges, Skill Heart actions, prompts, and safe-city conditions interrupt the channel.
